HALF DAY BEACH SAUNA RETREAT

  • Studland Village Hall Heath Green Road Swanage, England, BH19 3BT United Kingdom (map)

When: Saturday 20th April 9:30 - 13:00 Where: Studland Village Hall, Swanage, BH19 3BT

Join me for a revitalising and restful morning of nature, challenge and grounding practices on sandy beaches, refresh your body and soul, relax and have fun.

During this Morning Retreat we will explore the senses and slow down through yoga and meditation, refreshing wild sea swims and warming wood fired sauna sessions. And all in an absolutely stunning natural environment, and an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Studland Bay Nature Reserve. Enjoy the challenge of cold sea water and a hot rustic sauna on a golden sandy beach.

During the morning you will enjoy:

Arrival and welcome

Meditation and opening circle

Yang to Yin Yoga

Tea, cakes, home made snacks and fruits

Beach sauna and wild sea dips (we have use of both saunas on Studland Beach)

Closing circle and Goodbyes

We will meet in the sleepy village of Studland at the spacious and light village hall, parking is available next. You’ll be greeted with teas and an opportunity to settle in before we begin. We start by greeting the morning and each other in an Opening Circle with a short grounding meditation practice. Then we move - I’ll share a dynamic Yang to restful Yin Yoga class, including a restful savasana. Top up your energy with home made sweet treats (made by my Mum) and tea, before we make our way to Knoll Beach to enjoy the sauna and swim.

We’ll drive and park together (you’ll need money for the car park) and meet our lovely hosts Paul and Tracey @studlandsaunahut who will settle us into our warming wood fired sauna experience. Move between the cold revitalising ocean and the heat of the sauna, experiencing relaxation and contrast therapy.

Contrast therapy, also known as the Nordic cycle, is a well-known recovery and rehabilitation technique with historical roots dating back to naturopathic medicine. It can be traced back to 3,500 BCE when it was used in treating various ailments and injuries. The alternation between hot and cold temperatures helps to improve circulation, reduces muscle tension, reduces inflammation, helps us to deal better with stress, and stimulates the release of endorphins, meaning we feel good almost instantly!

You'll leave this session with a full and happy heart, having spent time challenging yourself in a safe environment, enjoying wholesome practices with lovely people, appreciating beautiful nature, having a good time, reconnecting and slowing down.

This morning promises to be a magical start to the summer.
